A bookish theme not only adds a personal touch to the festivities, it\u2019s an opportunity for guests to help build out the baby\u2019s library. Here\u2019s everything you need to know about planning a storybook-themed party to honor life’s next chapter.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Choose a Genre<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

You don\u2019t have to pick a specific category, but if you are new to the planning process, the more you hone in on the theme, the easier it will be to choose all the other details (read: invitations, decor, food, favors \u2026 don\u2019t worry, we\u2019ll get there). For a storybook theme, you can make it all about fairy tales with the words \u201cOnce Upon a Time\u201d featured throughout the shower elements<\/a>. Another popular pick is a nursery-rhyme theme (think \u201cTwinkle, Twinkle Little Star\u201d or \u201cThe Cow Jumped Over the Moon\u201d). Or, you may want to zero in on the mom\u2019s favorite author or children\u2019s book.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

From hors d\u2019oeuvres to desserts, you just need to get a little creative. For the showers piece de resistance<\/em> (the cake, of course), you can turn the whole confection into a tower of titles<\/a>, or focus on the toppers instead. Personally, it\u2019s a no for me when it comes to often-useless party favors. But as a self-proclaimed bibliophile, I could always use another bookmark. For a baby shower, you\u2019ll find a ton of free printable ones on Pinterest, or you can buy and print your own on Etsy<\/a>. For something a little more special, consider a metal bookmark <\/a>that will make a more lasting keepsake.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
